Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center Students Explore Careers at Alfred State College’s VAST Event

Students from Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center (CTC) had the opportunity to explore hands-on career experiences at Alfred State College’s veterinary, agriculture, STEM, and trades (VAST) career discovery event on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

The free event, which took place at the Alfred State College Farm, welcomed high school students from across the region to discover a wide range of career pathways in veterinary science, agriculture, STEM fields, and skilled trades.

During the day, students participated in interactive demonstrations, met Alfred State faculty and students, and learned about programs that prepare graduates for in-demand careers. The VAST event encouraged attendees to explore their interests through hands-on learning experiences—whether welding, working with animals, experimenting with new technologies, or investigating agricultural innovations.
