Mr. Bishel is pleased to announce that three junior students in engineering have completed their steam engine projects. These students have continued to have interest in machining subsequent to the completion of their National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) “three-hole” assignment, an assignment all first-year students are required to complete.
All three students, at the guidance of instructional aide Mr. Cox, fabricated toy cannons prior to completing their steam engines. Mr. Cox owned his own tool and die shop prior to retirement. Mr. Cox has been sharing his vast knowledge of the trade with students for the past eight years of our engineering technology program at Seneca Highlands Career and Technology Center.
